The story behind the lizard stems from our founder’s first ever introduction to a publishing house. In 1995 Clara Perry began working at legal publishers Monitor Press, where a monitor lizard graphic was used as the corporate identity and logo of the company.
It was at Monitor Press, where Clara learnt the ropes of publishing and realised she had found a career that she loved and could see great potential in.
In 1997, after a successful promotion, Clara moved to the Lloyd’s Publishing division of the company and relocated to the London office, which offered her more opportunities.
Shortly after in 1999, the Monitor Press division of the company (based in Suffolk) was merged into the London Office, and integrated within the rest of the Lloyds Group. The merge left Clara as the only original employee of Monitor Press still working at Lloyds.
It was an emotional time to lose Monitor Press and all the staff of the Suffolk office, so Clara brought back the lizard within all Pro Publishing company branding to mark and remember where her career began.
